Explore historic Nagasaki on a narrated drive that includes a visit to Peace Memorial Park. Board your motor coach for a scenic city drive en route to the moving Peace Memorial Park located near Ground Zero, the center of the blast. In 1945, an estimated 75,000 people perished when the city became the second target of a nuclear attack. The 30-foot-high "Statue of Peace" is a symbol of world peace. Peruse the adjacent Atomic Bomb Museum and view the permanent exhibit of photographs and artifacts. Located near the Atomic Bomb Museum is a striking monument that marks the center of the atomic blast, which leveled the city. Your city drive continues past the Urakami Catholic Church, originally built in 1879 after a long ban on Christianity was lifted, and the famed one-legged Torii Gate. A scenic drive brings you back to port.
