Your first stop on this packed excursion is the unique town of Aix-en-Provence, a charming city that was once the medieval capital of Provence. View the elegant 18th and 19th century architecture, then tour the Old Town, which is home to a stunning cathedral and more than 200 statues. Browse the markets and galleries, before enjoying Provencal lunch at a restaurant of your choice. Return to Marseille for a narrated drive; pass by the forts of St.Nicholas and St. John, and continue along the Canebiere, Marseille's main avenue. View the impressive Notre-Dame de la Garde, the beautiful Basilica that sits on a hill overlooking the city, and the Cathedral de la Major, another striking neo-Byzantine beauty. Drive along the stunning Corniche, which runs for three miles almost along the Marseille coastline, before shopping in Le Vieux Port, the city's most vibrant district.
