Introduced by the Spanish in the 18th century, the kalesa is an iconic symbol of Filipino heritage. Vividly painted and decorated with ornate details, the two-wheeled horse-drawn carriage is designed to accommodate four to five passengers. Immerse in this time-honored tradition with a ride that takes you through the Intramuros, the oldest part of the city. Inside its 500-year-old walls is the historic Baluarte De San Diego, Manila's first stone fort. Destroyed by earthquake and restored in 1992, it's now a park with gardens and fountains. Transfer to a coach for views of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, the Philippine International Convention Center and Folk Arts Theater, favorite venues for local and international events, concerts and performances. Another gem inside the complex is the Coconut Palace made mostly of coconut materials. Proceed to Makati, Manila's financial and commercial center with a stop at Rizal Park, Manila's largest park.
