Introduced by the Spanish in the 18th century, the kalesa is an iconic symbol of Filipino heritage. Vividly painted and decorated with ornate details, the two-wheeled horse-drawn carriage is designed to accommodate four to five passengers. Immerse in this time-honored tradition with a ride that takes you through the Intramuros, the oldest part of the city. Inside its 500-year-old walls is the historic Baluarte De San Diego, Manila's first stone fort. Destroyed by earthquake and restored in 1992, it's now a park with gardens and fountains.
