Discover Manila, the Philippines' capital city and premier gateway to the country by using the most popular local means of public transportation called Jeepney. Painted with bright colors, designs, or murals, the Jeepney is a fun way to take in the sights. From the pier you'll board the Jeepney. Take your seat in one of the bench seats as the driver heads out to the Sarao Motors Factory, where you can see how local jeepneys are made. Next stop is the historic Rizal Park and the old Walled City of Intramuros, built during the Spanish colonial period. After visiting Rizal Park, travel to Fort Santiago, which served as headquarters of the military might of the Spanish, American and Japanese colonizers until its destruction in 1945. Take a short walk to the Handicraft Store before you visit San Augustin Church, the oldest church in the Philippines, which dates back to 1571.
Special Notes:
There is approximately 2½ hours of walking on this tour, as well as a few steps to negotiate. Jeepney tends to have a small leg room and lower ceilings and its ride might be slightly bumpy compared to a motorcoach. Traffic conditions within the city center are unpredictable and this may affect the duration of the tour and increase the time spent on the Jeepney. The order of highlights may vary to avoid congestion.Details
