Just an hour drive to the city of Malolos, capital of the province of Bulacan and the birthplace of the First Constitutional Democracy in Asia. Discover its rich historical heritage on this tour. First stop is the Barasoain Church. Founded by Augustinian missionaries in 1859 and built in 1888, it has been a designated National Shrine. Next, you will visit the Museum of the 1899 Republic, houses artifacts that highlights the evolution of the Philippines from colonial outpost to an independent state. Then visit Casa Real Shrine, built in 1580, was the seat of power for Malolos during the Spanish and American occupations. Just minutes away is the Malolos Cathedral, whose convent once served as the presidential palace of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first Philippine President. As you return to the ship, you will pass along Kamestisuhan Street, where a row of ancestral houses lies steeped in history.

Travel time to Malolos is approximately 1-½ hours each way, dependent on traffic conditions. Museum of the 1899 Republic is closed on Sunday.Details
