Granada itself is a beautiful city, but nothing in all of Spain compares to the wealth of architectural art you'll see today. The first landmark you'll visit is Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site acclaimed as 'an exceptional example of a royal Arab residence of the medieval period.' The 14th century masterpiece is surrounded by walls and towers, and inside you will find palaces, military buildings, a fortress and an administrative center. Stroll to the Generalife Palace and Gardens, a superb example of Arabic landscape design featuring terraced water gardens with ornate ponds, pools, fountains, running streams and the famous 'Escalera del Agua,' a waterfall that cascades down a flight of stairs from the upper patio to the chapel below. No visit is complete without a tour of the Alcazaba, the largest fortress built by the Moors in Spain. Following lunch, you'll begin your return to Malaga.
