Your tour begins as your board your motorcoach for a scenic drive to Granada. You'll travel north from Malaga, climbing the coastal Sierra before crossing the plain and passing the cities of Santa Fe and Loja to Granada, nestled at the foot of the Sierra Nevada.

A short walk takes you to the Alhambra where you'll embark on a walking tour. The 14th-century Alhambra is a forbidding fortress on the exterior. Yet its interior is in sharp contrast. The Nazari palace complex boasts stunning mosaic work, intricate, carved stone latticework, alabaster gates, and the celebrated Lion Court with its delicate arcades and inlaid ceilings.

Generalife is next on your walking tour. The former summer residence of Granada's rulers was remodeled into a Renaissance fortress for Charles V. Enveloping the fortress are the original Moorish gardens, built in the mid 14th-century. This superb example of Arabic landscape design features terrace and connecting water gardens with ornate ponds, pools, fountains and running streams.

Next stop is a buffet lunch at one of the local hotel restaurants. You'll have free time to browse for souvenirs at the Alhambra gift shop.

Your tour concludes with a walk back to your motorcoach, and a relaxing drive back to the pier. With Granada behind you, you leave with a myriad of unforgettable memories of a lifetime.

Special Notes:

The motorcoach journey to Granada is approximately two hours each way.

Walking shoes are recommended. Comfortable shoes and sunscreen

Alhambra can close without notice for official visits and entry cannot be guaranteed. Ongoing restoration will be taking place at Alhambra.

No more than 30 guests are allowed inside at any one time -- there may be a delay. The assigned entrance time to the Nazrid Palace dictates your itinerary and the time taken for lunch.

Tickets for this tour are allocated approximately four months prior to the call at Málaga. The number of tickets available is limited; please waitlist everyone in your party as early as possible for the best chance of confirmation.

Once you have booked or waitlisted, there will be no refunds or exchanges for cancellations on this tour. You must submit your passport information as soon as you book this tour. Bookings not associated with a passport number are not accepted. The same passport is required for entry into the Alhambra. Bring your passport on tour. A hard photocopy or a digital copy on your mobile device is acceptable.
