Get to know Funchal in a tukxi, a three-wheeled motorized rickshaw. Inspired by the iconic Ape Calessino scooter and the glamorous Italian Dolce Vita lifestyle, it's a unique way to learn the city's history and explore its most popular landmarks. Your driver/guide will travel along the harbor, which has views of the sea on one side and clusters of houses on green mountains on the other. Arriving in Old Town, you'll putt-putt through narrow cobbled streets, lined with beautifully restored houses and quaint local restaurants. In the heart of the city sits Praça do Municipio, the awe inspiring square that boasts the historic City Hall; built in 1758, it typifies the 18th century architectural treasures found around the island. Have your camera ready as you stop to capture views of the stunning cliff tops from Socorro Viewpoint and Santa Caterina Park, which provides exceptional views over Funchal and the bay.

This tour is not self-driven. The minimum age to participate is 3 years. At viewpoints, paths are cobbled, including steps. The Tukxi cannot accommodate mobility devices onboard; not suitable for guests confined to wheelchairs. In the interests of guests safety, the route can be changed or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or roadworks.
