Madeira's spectacular scenery and culinary traditions are a treat for the senses. From Funchal, you'll journey to Pico de Arieiro for photos; at 5,960 feet, it's the island's third highest peak. From here, you'll stop at the Santo da Serra Golf Club for tea or coffee accompanied by a slice of traditional Madeira cake. Another photo stop greets you at Camoes Pequeno, which offers views of Machico, a small resort town believed to be the site of the island's first settlers. Back on the coach, you'll continue on to the Blandy Wine Lodge. Sitting in the heart of the city, the family-owned winery dates back 200 years and boasts some of the island's finest madeira wines. During your guided tour, you'll learn about the different types of Madeira wines, and sample two varieties. Enjoy a visit to the gift shop before returning to your ship.
