Your seven-hour day of exploration begins with an approximate two-hour road trip offering stunning views of the peninsula as you cross from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific side. At the launch point, board a skiff, put on your life vest and head out in search of migrating gray whales. Magdalena Bay is a haven for a vast array of wildlife, but this peaceful, nutrient-rich waterway is most noted for sheltering the gray whales that migrate south from chilly Alaska in February to spend their winter in the Mexican sunshine.
