Escape the busy crowds and revel in Loreto's nature and history from atop a well-trained horse. With a friendly and knowledgeable guide in the lead, you're sure to get an in-depth look at the Loreto Estuary. Recommended for ages nine and older, you will receive lessons in horseback riding at the departure point. Once you mount up, you'll gently ride off to the Loreto Estuary to begin your approximate two-hour hour adventure. As you make your way along the well-traveled path, you'll learn that the native Guaycura of Baja California Sur settled the area centuries before Padre Salvatierra arrived with his fellow Jesuit missionaries and established the first European settlement in the Californias in 1697. Keep your camera handy: the estuary is home to pelicans, herons and cormorants, and the blooming cactus and desert iguanas are just a few of the many delights you'll see.
