Lisbon is a wonderland of cobblestone streets, UNESCO sites, iconic monuments and impressive museums. Explore this captivating city beginning with a visit to the Belem Quarter. En route, you'll pass the Belem Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have your camera ready when you stop for photos at the Monument to the Discoveries, which commemorates the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry the Navigator. Photos taken, you'll continue on to another World Heritage Site-the 500-year-old Jerónimos Monastery. Lisbon's finest landmark is an enticing marriage of Moorish and Gothic styles with imposing spires, carvings, tombs and ornate arches. Savor a Pastel de Nata. Crisp, slightly salty pastry with a molten spiced filling, these custard tarts are a Portuguese classic. Your next stop is the Praça Dom Pedro IV, commonly referred to as Rossio, where you can shop and purchase lunch. At the end of the day, you'll visit the colossal statue of Christ the King, which offers views of the castle of St. George and Black Horse Square.
