Spend a relaxing half-day exploring Portugal's wonderful coastline and countryside, starting with a scenic drive to Sintra, which is set high in the mountains. This delightful town boasts many attractions. From the central square, you will be able to gaze up (if weather permits) at the historic 8th-century Castle of the Moors fortress. Enjoy browsing the shops that surround this delightful 15th-century square, or relax at a local café and enjoy a refreshing beverage while you watch the world go by. Then head towards the small fishing village of Cascais. At Cascais, enjoy the breeze from the sea, as you take in the relaxing ocean views. Stroll the narrow streets, shopping for gifts, before your return journey to Lisbon, passing through seaside villages, and the River Tagus.
