Where else but Lima can you savor such a tasty mélange of Incan, Spanish, African, European and Asian cuisines! On this half-day tour, you will get a true "taste of Peru." First, a trip to a local market will give you the chance to examine the native bounty, which includes an enormous variety of potatoes and the city's eponymous lima beans. Then it is a short drive to tha restaurant, where you will get a fascinating demonstration of seasonal Peruvian cuisine, followed by a delicious lunch. After lunch, you will get a lesson in the making of the classic Peruvian cocktail, the Pisco Sour. Created in Lima in the 1920s, it is a variation on the Whiskey Sour, centered on a base of the Peruvian alcohol pisco. You'll leave with a fresh appreciation of the country's renowned cuisine and a few tips for bringing a little taste of Peru back home with you.
