The Allied invasion of Normandy in June of 1944 was the largest seaborne invasion ever attempted and marked the beginning of the Allies' incursions into German-occupied Western Europe, turning the tide of the war and leading to the Allied victory. This full-day tour explores key sites from those crucial days of WWII. Begin with a motorcoach drive to Bayeux and the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy for a visit to this interactive museum offering displays, military artifacts, and archival film presentations. From here, drive past the British Military Cemetery to lunch. Continue on to the World War II Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument then on to Omaha Beach for a photo stop. Next, travel to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, the final resting place of nearly 10,000 servicemen who died during the Normandy campaign. You'll also tour the Visitors Center that screens informative films. A relaxing drive back to port concludes this poignant day.
