Marrying cutting edge technologies with traditional methods, its 50-year mission has been to preserve the area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from unsustainable exploitation. From the pier, you'll step aboard an open-top bus and embark on a leisurely drive along the upper road above the Cinque Terre coastline with views of terraced vineyards, olive groves and rocky cliffs topped with houses.
