Saint-Emilion
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Saint-Emilion region and village is situated in the heartland of Bordeaux's grape growing region, famed for its aromatic, rich, round wines. The vines on the "hill with a thousand castles" reach right up to Saint-Emilion's 13th-century town walls and surrounding moat dug out of solid rock. The main monuments of the town include the Collegiale church, the 12th-century ramparts, and the colorful marketplace. Stroll the village's cobblestone streets and admire the heritage stone structures, Romanesque ruins, and tiny shops selling curios and Saint-Emilion's fine wines.

Your picturesque drive to Saint-Emilion wends its way past famous vineyards and wineries and through the lush countryside.

Wine Tasting:
The nearby Château de Villemaurine estate offers an introduction to the techniques of wine making during the visit of the cellars before a wine tasting of some of their best vintages.
