Explore historic Lugo overlooking the Mino River on this pleasant full-day adventure that combines a guided walking tour with free time to explore. A one-hour drive brings you to the city's well-preserved Roman wall, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin with a panoramic motorcoach drive around the perimeter, then commence on foot for an up-close look at the charming Old Town dating back to 14 B.C. Stroll through its charming squares, colorful gardens and a host of historic highlights. Admire the beautiful cathedral, dating back to 1129 A.D, visit House of Mosaics, the Provincial Museum located in the medieval "Convento de San Francisco," or the Porta Miná Museum with galleries of archaeological remains. Essential Information: On Sundays, most shops close and shopping will be limited. The drive from La Coruna to Lugo takes approximately 60 minutes each way, subject to traffic conditions. Interior visit to the Cathedral is not included in the tour. This tour involves approximately two hours of walking. Thus, it is not recommended for passengers with mobility problems.
