An exciting, immersive experience awaits in Kushiro. Join your local, English-speaking guide and gain a richer appreciation for the sights and flavors of "the misty city."
Begin with a scenic motorcoach ride to Kushiro Crane Reserve, where you will see why these magnificent birds have been designated as a Special Natural Living Treasure.
After visiting the crane reserve, drive to the Kushiro City Museum. A huge skeleton of a mammoth greets you upon entry into this impressively designed building that houses a collection of displays on the nature and history of the Kushiro area.
Your day continues at a traditional soba noodle restaurant, "Chikuroen," in the city area. Soba noodles are a very popular dish in Kushiro, and Chikuroen once served the tasty meal to the Japanese emperor and his wife. Chef Shinji Ito, the owner of the restaurant, will explain the significance of soba in the Kushiro culture and serve the finest noodles during a special lunch.
After lunch you will return to port.
