Board your motorcoach and drive to Kushiro Crane Reserve. Established in 1958, the reserve preserves endangered redheaded cranes, which were on the verge of extinction in the 1950s. Cranes can be viewed year-round at the reserve; hatching takes place from May through June. Continue to the Kushiro Museum. Here you find a lot of exhibits and they will tell you what Kushiro has been. A big mammoth skeleton will greet you near the gate and you will be amazed at the sight. Your final destination is the famous Washo Fish Market near Kushiro railway station. At the heart of the market are the sashimi vendors, who offer a staggering array of raw seafood. The custom is to order a bowl of rice at one of the rice stalls, then visit the sashimi stalls for the topping of your choice. Board your coach for the return trip to the ship.
Special Notes:
Kushiro Crane park is a conservation center established to protect and preserve the endangered Japanese redheaded crane. When guests eat the bowl rice in the market, they have to purchase a bowl of rice and each topping sashimi.
