Admire the unparalleled views of Kristiansand's icy-blue waters from the seat of a two-person kayak. Whether this is your first time kayaking or you're an old pro, this invigorating adventure around Odderøya Island is designed for a maximum of just 16 people. The tour starts with a brief walk from the pier to the kayak station. Before stepping into your kayak, you'll be equipped with protective clothing and participate in a brief safety lesson. Once on the water, the guide will demonstrate paddle techniques with time to practice. Then, you'll follow your guide; en route, the guide will share Odderøya's history and point out various points of interest such as the sandy bays, dramatic sea cliffs, two lighthouses, the Art Museum and Kilden Performing Arts Center. Soak up the serenity upon your return past Kristiansand's fishermen's jetties, fish market and the Royal Jetty, reserved for the King of Norway.
Special Notes:
Not suitable for guests confined to wheelchairs. Guests will be required to paddle for approximately 6 kms (7.2 miles). Equipment provided include double sea kayaks, paddles, dry bags for spare clothes, seafood snacks, and drinks. The tour is suitable for beginners. Sea kayaking can be strenuous and involves paddling for 2 to 3 hours in open water. Participants should be able to swim and be in good physical health. Max weight to participate is 110kg (242 lbs.).
