Your first stop on this enjoyable half-day excursion, is Budva, a genuine highlight of the Montenegrin Riviera. With your guide, stroll the fascinating narrow streets of this 2,500-years-old medieval town, before browsing the shops for souvenirs. Climb back onto the bus for the scenic drive along the pretty coastline back to Kotor. Here, your guide will show you around the ornate St Tryphon cathedral, which was completed in 1166, and is a wonderful example of Romanesque and Byzantine architecture. The interior is decorated with an impressive gilded altar, frescoes, and a collection of Venetian art dating to the 14th century. End the day at the Maritime Museum, which is housed in the 17th century Grgurina Palace. This wonderful museum chronicles Kotor's glory days as one of the Adriatic's major naval powers, and showcases many artifacts including exhibits from World Wars I and II, Naval weapons and navigation instruments.
Special Notes:
Due to ongoing road constructions, you will need to negotiate an additional walk of approximately 25 minutes each way (0.7 miles) in Budva. Guests with mobility challenges should take this additional walk into consideration. In this case, the duration of this tour will be extended by 90 minutes. The exact duration of the tour will be communicated onboard.Visitors must walk extensive distances and negotiate uneven surfaces. Not suited for passengers in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. Wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat.
When visiting sacred sites wear conservative attire. Clothing should cover the shoulders and knees. Shorts are not permitted.
