What you will visit:

Kohala Coast Waterfall Hike & Swim
The northwest portion of the Big Island of Hawaii, Kohala is divided into the north and south district. Less developed, this beautiful northern region is a geographically significant area that features black and red rock fields against white-sand beaches that starkly contrast with jagged cliffs. Several viewpoint areas offer sweeping vistas of ancient sugarcane plantations, and vegetation-covered rocks glisten from the waterfalls that plunge over them. On foot, explore the historic Kohala Ditch Trail and marvel at several cascades, a series of sparkling streams, bridges, and Hawaiian taro terraces and irrigation flumes. A swimming hole fed by a waterfall, refreshes you after the trek.

What you will see along the way:
This North Kohala adventure treats you to views of breathtaking private waterfalls, tranquil streams, scenic coastlines, sugarcane plantations and rugged vistas. Enjoy the lush emerald valleys and sea cliffs from a lookout point and take in the legendary Hawaiian natural beauty, a canvas of color and light.

Photo Opportunities:
Fill your camera with the idyllic beauty of the North Kohala coast. A waterproof casing will afford up-close waterfall shots from right below the cascade.

Lunch:
You're sure to work up an appetite after your hike and swim! Tuck into a deli-style lunch, including sandwich choice of turkey, ham, or veggie, chips, dessert, sodas and juice drinks. Gluten-free options are available, including gluten-free bread or gluten-free salad.

Special Notes:

Minimage is 1 year and children under 3 years must be carried in a backpack carrier. Participants must be able to walk over uneven terrain and short climbs. Not recommended for those with back or neck problems or for pregnant women. Walking staffs, towels, raingear and daypacks are included. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes.
