Lithuania's folk legends come alive when you visit the quaint fishermen's village of Juodkrante on this delightful four-hour adventure. Begin with an informative drive through the historic seaport town of Klaipeda, then hop on the ferry across the Curonian Lagoon to the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your destination is Juodkrante (Black Shore), the oldest fishermen's village on the spit. Transformed into a modern-day resort town, it offers a wonderful mix of old and new. Here you'll delight in the more than 80 wooden fairytale statues carved from oak on Witches Hill, as well as the stately Evangelical Lutheran church, a weather vane gallery showcasing this iconic regional artform, and boutiques selling amber souvenirs. Prior to your return, stop to photograph the long honey-colored shoreline, which has been awarded the Blue Flag and is considered one of the best beaches on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Return to port.
