Soak up the sights on Kangaroo Island onboard this fascinating half-day tour. Learn about the local history, visit the island's main attractions and even make time for a coffee and a chinwag with some of the friendly locals. Begin the tour by exploring the township of Kingscote, South Australia's oldest European settlement. Enjoy free time to shop for souvenirs, stroll to the beach or simply wander this charming town before venturing off to the site of the original colony at Reeves Point. Here you'll spot the historic Old Mulberry Tree that was planted in 1836 and is still alive and thriving today. Next stop is American River, this area was first visited by Europeans in 1802 when Matthew Flinders landed to survey this part of Kangaroo Island. In 1803, a group of American sealers camped for four months in the area. They arrived on the brig Union and built their own 35 ton schooner Independence from local timber. The town takes its name from this time. Continue your journey to the picturesque Pennington Bay, a favourite among surfers due to its impressive waves and coastline before returning to the pier.
