Creating and utilizing gold leaf is one of Japan's traditional crafts and more than 98% of it is produced right here in Kanazawa. After watching demonstrations of how gold leaf is pounded, Syou'll have the rare and unique privilege of making, and keeping, your own gold leaf art. Then join in the creation of Japanese sweets, an essential part of the nation's renowned tea ceremony. Called 'wagashi' and made from a variety of tasty ingredients, the sweets are often designed to reflect the current season. In this unique program, you will mix and decorate your own soft dough made from rice and bean paste and then enjoy your hand-made creation. You'll return to the pier with the memories of a truly unique cultural encounter.
