Straddling the Straits of Bosphorus, Istanbul is the only city in the world on two continents. The Greek colonizer, Byzas, first recognized the tremendous trading potential of this important waterway and in 685 B.C. the town of Byzantium was founded. Its strategic location led the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires to claim the town as their capital. Don't miss this opportunity to retrace the route these mighty kingdoms once sailed with a morning motorboat cruise. Once aboard, your captain will steer the vessel towards the Asian side. Breathe in the salty air as you cruise by some of the city's most iconic sites such as the 14th century Galata Tower and the 19th century Dolmabahce Palace acclaimed as the largest monoblock palace in Turkey. Upon arrival on the eastern side, you'll disembark for a hearty Turkish "kahvalti" breakfast. Following your feast, you'll board your motorboat back to port.
Special Notes:
Wear comfortable shoes and light clothes. The boat trip is operated depending on weather conditions. A few steps must be negotiated to board the boat. Bring a hat and sunscreen. Not suitable for guests confined to wheelchairs or using mobility devices.Details
