Enjoy a leisurely drive to Skrúður, Iceland's oldest botanical garden. When you arrive you'll have 20 minutes of free time to wander the glorious grounds. Founded in 1909 by a local vicar, it's also known as the world's northernmost botanical garden. Originally founded as a pioneering environmental education center, today it's a peaceful setting of different species of shrubs and trees. Scattered benches are perfect for marveling at the views across the fjord. Then, you'll travel to Flateyri for a guided tour of this 200-year-old fishing village. Your first stop is the local church where you'll hear an Icelandic musical program followed by a leisurely stroll to the old bookstore for coffee and homemade pastries. At the completion of your walking tour, you'll return to Ísafjörður and your awaiting ship.
Special Notes:
The refreshments consist of sweet Icelandic pastries. It is not possible to request gluten free or other dietary restricted refreshments. It's recommended to wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear, and warm, waterproof outerwear. Child seats (except infant carriers) can be requested from the local excursion operators, but these are only available in limited numbers per port. We therefore ask you to bring a suitable child seat for your child so that participation in your reserved shore excursion can be made possible.Child Price:
