Food lovers unite! Here's an opportunity to taste the finest, freshest fish Iceland has to offer. Travel to the eco-friendly village of Sudureyri, only a 25-minute scenic motorcoach drive from port. In Sudureyri you'll take in the spectacular natural scenery and experience life at the edge of the Arctic Circle. Here, fishing rules the day, and you'll learn the process of fish exportation, the main industry of this town. A guide will orient you to this quaint village and share the history of its local cuisine. Then, you'll hit the 'Food Trail', sampling a different fish delicacy or local product at each of them. You'll nibble and chat with the locals, gaining a deeper understanding of the culture through their creative cuisine. Afterwards, burn off some calories on one of the picturesque walking trails. Return to port via motorcoach after a memorable and tasty day.
Special Notes:
Please note depending on your time of visit the Fish processing plant may not be in full operation. If the catch is not abundant enough for the afternoon or week, the fish processing plant is not open. Child seats (except infant carriers) can be requested from the local excursion operators, but these are only available in limited numbers per port. We therefore ask you to bring a suitable child seat for your child so that participation in your reserved shore excursion can be made possible.Details
