Soak up the local color and spectacular scenery when you travel by motorcoach to the petite village of Sudavik. A 20-minute drive brings you to this little enclave, populated by only 200 inhabitants. The town is divided into old and new, after having been struck by an avalanche and partially destroyed in 1995. Stroll the area and visit the premier attraction, the Arctic Fox Center, a museum and research center dedicated to the native animal of Iceland. It is fascinating to learn how these beautiful creatures survive in such harsh conditions. Stop at the local Community Center for some traditional refreshments. From there, you'll visit the local church, where you'll be treated to a performance of Icelandic music, a unique blend of poetry and song. Return to the pier via motorcoach taking in views of the stunning inner fjord.
Special Notes:
Guests are advised to wear warm layered clothing and sturdy shoes. The refreshments usually consist of Icelandic waffles with jam and whipped cream or other sweet pastries. It is not possible to request gluten free or other dietary restricted refreshments. Child seats (except infant carriers) can be requested from the local excursion operators, but these are only available in limited numbers per port. We therefore ask you to bring a suitable child seat for your child so that participation in your reserved shore excursion can be made possible.Details
