Welcome to the 'Capital to the Highlands.' You'll begin your journey through the heather-covered hills of the Scottish Highlands on your way to Cawdor Castle. The castle is still the seat of the Earls of Cawdor, and the current home to the Dowager Countess Cawdor. However, many know this as the setting for Duncan's murder in Shakespeare's Macbeth. You'll get to tour the castle's spectacular gardens and stunning interior before enjoying lunch at a local first-class restaurant. Then, after your repast, it'll be time to begin your own search for 'Nessie.' Your scenic drive will bring you to the jagged ruins of Urquhart Castle. During its turbulent history, the castle was plundered by the MacDonald clan and then destroyed during the Jacobite Rebellion. Legend has it that a cave beneath the castle is the home of legendary 'monster.'
