Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Explore the Jewel in the Crown of the Highlands, Dunrobin Castle. One of Britain's oldest continuously-inhabited houses, it dates back to the early 1300s, as the home to the Earls and later, the Dukes of Sutherland. The Earldom of Sutherland is one of the seven ancient earldoms of Scotland and the Sutherlands were one of the most powerful families in Britain. After a scenic ride past meandering firths and villages, you'll arrive at the spectacular estate. Once there, you'll make your entrance through the grand front door just as the Duke would have in 1850, coming up the steep hill in a coach and four. You'll visit the Castle's state apartments, bedrooms and nurseries, as well as stroll the formal 19th-century gardens inspired by those at the Palace of Versailles.
