Whether you're an avid ornithologist, a casual birdwatcher, a nature photographer or just crave to try something different in the great outdoors, this excursion, led by a local expert birder, takes small groups from one location to another in a quest to find the best birding locations. From Icy Strait Point, you'll travel along the shore of Port Frederick where you'll spy seabirds feeding in the nutrient rich waters. Scope for pigeon guillemots, gulls, ducks and seabirds at the ferry terminal then make a brief stop at an active bald eagle's nest. At the Long Island causeway, you'll see shorebirds, ducks, eagles, ravens, cormorants, and much more. Then, your guide will lead you down a trail frequented by warblers, sparrows, flycatchers, jays, woodpeckers, sapsuckers, wrens, kinglets, swallows, swifts, hummingbirds, creepers, chickadees and thrushes. Binoculars, rain jackets, and the highest quality spotting scopes will be provided.
