When you travel away from the tourist attractions to the real communities, you encounter an enriching and memorably authentic experience. This four-hour adventure celebrates the colors and flavors of Huatulco and its people. Settle in for a scenic ride that takes you to Piedra de Moros to visit a garden that displays medicinal plants and herbs. Follow your guide along a walkway and receive a brief explanation of the plant's origins. You will also have the chance to taste a drink made with the lemongrass herb. Next, enjoy a tortilla-making demonstration as well as an explanation of the local use of 'nopal' (cactus). Continue on to the ancient town of Santa Maria Huatulco to photograph its beautiful church built in the 17th century and the Municipal Palace. Just a quick drive brings you to a mezcal factory where you'll learn the different uses of the maguey plant and discover the elaborate process of distillation of this traditional Oaxacan beverage. Return to port via a scenic drive.
