Caernarfon Castle played a key role in England's long struggle for dominion over Wales. Built by Edward I at the entrance of the Menai Strait, the castle was the linchpin in a series of English fortifications built in the 13th century. Stroll the battlements atop the gray stone walls, climb the towers, and see the courtyard where Prince Charles was invested as Prince of Wales in 1969. And this UNESCO World Heritage Site is just one of many attractions that make history come alive. This full-day excursion with lunch allows time for shopping in the historic walled city of Caernarfon and visits Llanfair P.G., a charming town whose official name consists of 58 characters. To round out your experience of North Wales, you'll drive through the beautiful Snowdonia Mountains, crossing Llanberis Pass to the small mountain village of Capel Curig before returning to your ship via the Britannia Bridge.
Special Notes:
The drive from Holyhead to Caernarfon is approximately one hour. The floors and battlements of Caernarfon Castle are slippery in wet weather. Please wear rubber-soled shoes and watch your step.Child Price:
