Discover the Big Island's rainforest waterfalls. Travel to Akaka Falls, a free-falling waterfall that plummets 442 feet into the rainforest. Explore views along the Wailuku River and Rainbow Falls, surrounded by orchids and wild ginger. Board your tour vehicle and drive along the northeast shore to Akaka Falls State Park. An approximately one-mile trail leads through the rainforest and offers views of the Big Island's most beautiful waterfall, Akaka Falls. Here Kolekole Creek plummets 442 feet into a densely forested gorge. Return to your tour vehicle for the return drive to Hilo, enjoying views of Onomea Bay. Your destination is Rainbow Falls, where the Wailuku River plunges 100 feet past a large lava cave into a turquoise pool. View the Wailuku River through stands of orchid, bamboo and wild ginger as you return to your tour vehicle.

Bring sun protection and wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes and clothes suited to the day's weather conditions. Children 7 years and under require a car seat per Hawaii state law.
