A taste of Hilo, this 3.5-hour adventure takes in a smattering of the island's most scenic natural sites and "nibbles" its way through some of its tastiest attractions. Begin your mini-coach trip down tree-lined Banyan Drive and through Liliuokalani Garden, the largest Japanese-style garden outside of Asia. Take a moment to stop at Big Island Candies, where goodies galore are available for purchase. Continue through Hilo and see the iconic statue of King Kamehameha dramatically overlooking Hilo Bay, then stop at the local farmer's market brimming with colorful, tropical fruits. You'll want to have your camera at the ready at Rainbow Falls, an 80-foot-tall cascade surrounded by tropical flora. Shop for local delights at the Moana Loa Macadamia Nut Visitor Center, then marvel at a magnificent bay front black-sand beach, where, if you're lucky, green sea turtles will be basking in the sun. Return to port at the conclusion of this enjoyable day.
Special Notes:
Access to Rainbow Falls requires a walk up steps and the black sand beach has uneven, unpaved gravel terrain.Details
