By land and by water, explore dramatic Berlin on this all-day tour. Travel by train to experience the city's highlights on a narrated city drive and river cruise in Berlin. Keep your camera ready for Checkpoint Charlie, the famous former border crossing point between East and West Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate and historic Reichstag, a showcase of high Renaissance architecture. Visit the remaining pieces of the Berlin Wall among many points of interest on your itinerary. Pause for a typical German lunch in a local restaurant before your Spree River cruise. See the city from a different perspective and take in the sights of the buildings along this graceful waterway. Then, travel to West Berlin en route to Kurfürstendamm, a fashionable boulevard lined with shops and cafes. Spend free time here, then return to the train and enjoy the ride back to Hamburg
Special Notes:
Coach Transfer will bring you to/from the train station.The train ride between Hamburg and Berlin is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours each way. The train is not air-conditioned.
To avoid congestion, the order of sights visited may vary. Approximately 20 steep steps are required to access the pier for the Spree riverboat.
Wi Fi is not available on the train.
The coach for the city tour is equipped with seat belts, guests are required to use them. Guests may not stay on the coach during free time. The tour runs during all weather conditions. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of rain.
It is advisable to bring some small change of Euro coins as some shops do not accept other currencies nor Credit Cards for small purchases (furthermore, guests may have to pay for public bathroom facilities, usually between 50,- cents and 1,-Euro pp). Shops are closed on Sundays and bank holidays. Only a few souvenir shops may be open. Not accessible for wheelchair-confined guests.
