Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

This scenic half-day adventure begins with a city motor coach tour in the direction of the world's largest warehouse complex, known as 'Speicherstadt', an important Hamburg landmark renowned for its Gothic architecture and in 2015 declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have your first photo stop at the new concert hall Elbphilharmonie which was opened in 2017. Continue past the red-light sailor's district and the harbor district of St. Pauli before heading to Jungfernstieg - a fashionable shopping promenade.

Your second stop is made at Town Hall, a treasured landmark. The political locus of the city, the impressive neo-Renaissance building is located directly in the middle of the center of Hamburg. Follow your guide to take a photo at the Stock Exchange, founded in 1558 and the oldest stock exchange in Germany.

Next, walk to the jetty of your lake cruise boat. Hop onboard the comfortable and exclusively chartered sightseeing boat and settle in for a cruise on the city's waterways. The Alster River has been divided into two lakes, one on either side of the city. The Binnenalster is the inner lake, and the AuĂźenalster is the outer. The River Elbe also flows right through the city. With so much water, there is an abundance of bridges and canals; Hamburg actually has more canals than Venice and Amsterdam combined! Admire beautiful views of the posh residential districts and the city's unique skyline; discover how it is from the water that Hamburg really comes alive. Peaceful and informative, this guided tour offers countless photo opportunities.

After your cruise; rejoin your motor coach for your next destination, the famed St. Michael's Church, a baroque masterpiece considered to be one of the most beautiful churches in northern Germany. Time permitting, step inside for a quick peek at the awe-inspiring interior, designed to hold more than 3,000 worshipers and complete with magnificent organs, a marble pulpit crafted to look like a chalice and an altar with three sections that depict scenes from the life of Jesus Christ.

From here you can stroll over to Krameramtsstuben, the oldest residential district in Hamburg. Loosely translated it means Grocers' Apartments, as the area served as home for widows of the men who served in the Grocers' Institute. Now converted into shops and a restaurant, there is one apartment that has been preserved as a museum with furnishings that date back to the 1800s.

Re-board the motor coach for the conclusion of your city tour, driving along the harbor site back to the ship.
