Meet your local guide at the pier and start your four-hour adventure with a panoramic tour of the HafenCity district. Pass by highlights such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site warehouse complex, and the impressive neo-Renaissance Town Hall. Stop to photograph iconic St. Michael's Church, gaze onto scenic Outer Alster Lake, and drive through Reeperbahn, the famed red-light district. Your drive takes you out of the city to the former Neuengamme Concentration Camp, the largest of its kind in northern Germany during World War II, where the SS incarcerated approximately 106,000 people from December 1938 until May 1945 and 56,000 perished by the end of the war. Your experienced guide will give you a 20 minutes guided introduction to the area before you will have 90 min to explore the memorial site on your own. Return to port.

Special Notes:

Modest attire is required for visiting Neuengamme Concentration Camp; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered. Wear flat, comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers.

There are no age restrictions to enter the Concentration Camp, however due to the emotional distress we recommend an age restriction of 12 years.

The order of sights may vary. The coach for the city tour is equipped with seat belts, guests are required to use them. Guests may not stay on the coach during free time. The tour runs during all weather conditions. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of rain. It is advisable to bring some small change of Euro coins as some shops do not accept other currencies nor Credit Cards for small purchases (furthermore, guests may have to pay for public bathroom facilities, usually between 50,- cents and 1,-Euro pp). Shops are closed on Sundays and bank holidays. Only a few souvenir shops may be opened. Not available for wheelchair-confined guest.
