Craft your own adventure and experience the best of southeast Alaska in a single day. Travel between two charming towns on the Haines Skagway Fast Ferry and in 45 minutes arrive in Skagway for four hours of free time to discover Gold Rush history. Skagway charms with well preserved wooden boardwalks and colorful false-front buildings telling stories of the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush. Stop by Skagway's Visitor Center, then wander along Broadway Street, where historic saloons, frontier-era storefronts, and shops welcome you. Stop by the famed Red Onion Saloon, a former brothel turned bar and museum or visit the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Just a short walk from downtown, the Lower Dewey Lake Trail provides a hike with rewarding views. For local flavors, head to Skagway Brewing Company to sample their Spruce Tip Ale and visit the bakeries for cinnamon rolls and homemade pies. Return on the ferry.
Special Notes:
Guests must be able to walk up/down the ramp to/from the fast ferry, which may be steep depending on the tide, and board the ferry without the assistance of a wheelchair or other wheeled walking assistance on the ramp or stairs.Details
