Witness Geirangerfjord and Herdal Summer Farm on this half-day tour. You'll drive along Geirangerfjord and ascend Eagles Bend, climbing 11 hairpin bends to the mountain crest. You're sure to be awestruck by the breathtaking views of the Geirangerfjord, Seven Sisters Waterfall and surroundings mountains. Next, you'll descend the mountains, travelling through the Eidsdal Valley to Norddal Fjord, passing Lake Eid, scattered farmsteads and dense pockets of woodland. En route, you'll stop near the small village of Eidsdal for complimentary coffee or tea and a local delicacy, homemade pancakes. Your tour continues up the fjord and heads inland for a visit to a typical Norwegian summer farm, the Herdal Summer Farm. The local owner or his staff will proudly show you around their property and share their daily life and experiences on the farm. They'll explain and show you the making of goat cheese and even goat milk caramels, and you'll be able to sample different kinds of their products, which also make an original and tasty souvenir. You'll tour its traditional wood buildings with turf roofs, and witness some of the farm animals roaming about before departing for the pier. If you're looking for a combination of breathtaking views and an authentic experience in rural Norway, look no further.
Special Notes:
The Summer Farm will open around mid-June. If snow levels do not permit a visit to Summer Farm, a stop to Herdal Home farm will be made instead. Please be advised to dress in layers as the wind chill factor can be much colder than in the fjord itself.Child Price:
