Delve into Mayan culture on this VIP tour that takes in historic ruins, serves up authentic cuisine and includes a swim in a cenote and scenic canoeing on a full-day adventure. Set off on a 45-minute ferry ride to the mainland, then board a motorcoach to the majestic Temples of Tulum, where a certified guide will accompany you through the temple walls to 'El Castillo,' The Temple of the Descending God, The Temple of the Water and the Temple of the Frescos. Continue on to a Mayan village, where you'll learn how modern Mayan descendants live today. Walk through the Mayan Jungle, then cool off in the refreshing waters of a cenote. Canoes are available for those wanting to paddle through a lagoon channel to admire the exotic vegetation. A fresh tortilla demonstration whets your appetite for a typical Mayan lunch. Return to port at the end of this exciting day.
Special Notes:
Passengers prone to seasickness should take proper precautions. At Tulum, Mexican law requires a charge of up to $4.50 for passengers who bring a professional looking camera with interchangeable lenses. No tripods or monopods are permitted. Normal handheld camcorders are permitted. The following items are not permitted at Tulum: plastic water bottles; plastic bags; snacks such as cookies, chips, or candy; cigarettes; electronic cigarettes; tobacco; or lighters. Stainless steel tumblers or thermoses are allowed. Climbing on the ruins is prohibited. Strollers are not allowed at the site. The ground can be very rough and uneven. This tour is not recommended for passengers with difficulties walking or wheelchair guests. Please wear light clothing, good walking shoes, and a hat and bring water (in a thermos) and some cash. (US Dollars are widely accepted). Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, hat, and reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind of sunscreen is allowed in the water).
