WHAT YOU VISIT
- Coba Mayan Ruins
A ferry brings you to Playa del Carmen where your transportation waits to take you into Yucatan's interior. Once at Coba, you'll climb onto a "Mayan Taxi," a two personal vehicle that makes your journey over the rough limestone paths a little easier. Your English-speaking guide will lead you along paths carved through the rainforest. See how the remains of this impressive city emerged from the jungle and learn about Mayan life, secret beliefs and rituals. Explore newly restored structures that have only recently been uncovered. See the ball court where the deadly game Pok Ta Pok was played. Marvel at Nohoch Mul, the Yucatan's highest pyramid (even higher than Chichen-Itza) and climb the 120 steps to the 136-foot-tall top.

Discover the artistic and cultural heritage of the Mayans through the remains of ancient writings, preserved frescoes and ancient stone carvings.
LUNCH
During the day, you'll be treated to a box lunch and cold bottle of water or soda.
SHOPPING
Back in Playa del Carmen, you'll have a chance to shop for souvenirs, collector's items, clothing and reproductions of ancient Mexican art at a local Mayan Cooperative Center.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
En route to Coba, you'll travel past a mixture of simple local villages and modern hotel and resorts before emerging among an emerald green jungle.
Special Notes:
Passengers prone to seasickness should take proper precautions. At Coba, the Mexican government will collect $4.50 from guests wishing to take video camera into the ruins. No tripods or professional video equipment is permitted. This tour is not recommended for wheelchair guests or those who have difficulty walking. Tricycles are for two guests each for a service of about one hour. The rest of the tour is conducted on foot. The ground can be rough and uneven. Sun protection, bug spray, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. A brief rest stop will be made on the way to and returning from Coba. On your way back to your ferry, there will be no free time at Playa del Carmen.Child Price:
