This wonderful half-day tour to Kinsale begins when you meet your guide at the pier and settle in for the motorcoach ride that takes you through the River Lee Tunnel. Enjoy views of the rolling countryside, babbling brooks and brightly painted houses en route to Kinsale, a pretty 18th-century village. Once an important naval base, it is now a popular destination for yachtsmen. Many of the original 18th-century buildings remain, and you will have a chance to view them as you independently stroll around the village. You'll also take in the dramatic Charles Fort. One of the finest examples of a 17th-century fortification, this fort was primarily constructed as a coastal defense to prevent attacking naval forces from entering Kinsale Harbor. Explore the grounds and fill your camera with pictures before your drive back to Cobh gives you another wonderful chance to enjoy the rolling landscape of fields and hedgerows.
