The excitement of a Princess Cruise continues on disembarkation day when you arrive in Rome's city center and meet your guide for a walking tour. Your first stop is the beautiful Trevi Fountain (don't forget to throw in a coin). From here, you'll walk to Venice Square and see the imposing Altare della Patria and then continue along Via dei Fori Imperiali for exterior views of the ruins of the Roman Forum, once the heart of political and social life at the time of ancient Rome. Finally, you'll reach the Colosseum and enjoy exterior views of the world-renowned arena where gladiators once battled to the death. Afterward, the motorcoach will make a stop at a central location where those staying in Rome can take a taxi to their final destination and a second stop at FCO airport for those flying on the same day (flights after 5:00 pm only).
Special Notes:
Tour includes approx. 3 kms (almost 2 miles) walking over, even, uneven and cobblestone surfaces. The tour includes extensive walking portions and periods of standing with some steps to negotiate. The tour is not suggested for Guests with walking difficulties and/or using a wheelchair. Wear comfortable shoes, bring head cover, sunglasses, raingear.The drive between Civitavecchia and Rome is approximately 1 1/2 hours, subject to traffic conditions.
The order of the tour may be reversed or altered depending on traffic or local conditions.
Headsets (provided) will enhance your experience. Please be aware that ongoing restoration work is often being carried out at the various venues visited.
Most stores, except souvenir shops, are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
