History buffs will be fascinated by this full-day tour that takes in several key WWII sites from the crucial early days of the Allied incursion into German-occupied Western Europe. You'll explore the small village of Sainte-Mère-Église, where American paratroopers descended and occupied the town – one of the first liberated in the invasion. Next, a guide will take you through the D-Day Museum in Arromanches; after the tour, you will have time to browse the gift shop before a refreshing local lunch. Then, it is on to the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking Omaha Beach, the final resting place for over 10,000 American soldiers. Your final stop is Pointe du Hoc, where the Allies scaled a 100-foot cliff in a daring attack that neutralized the Germans' fortified gun emplacements before the Allied landings.
