Enjoy a guided architecture walk of Charleston homes. View stately homes built more than a century ago. The walk covers just over one mile and features tours of two of Charleston's most renowned museum houses. Tour the Nathaniel Russell House, which holds one of the two most outstanding collections of Charleston made-furniture in the city. Its spiraling cantilevered staircase is truly a work of art. Your second tour is the Heyward-Washington House. Built in 1772, it is an equally fine representation of Charleston. President George Washington resided in this Georgian house during his visit in 1791. The Heyward-Washington House boasts one of the few original kitchen houses in the city. Your guide will point out significant homes, grand churches and gardens along the way.
