Catalina's Zip Line Eco Tour, LA and Orange County's only zip line attraction, holds a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. So if you thrive on outdoor adventure then this exciting two-hour excursion will really get you moving. Fun for seasoned zip line pros, novices and thrill seekers of all ages (recommended for those over ten years of age, children between the ages of five and nine must ride tandem with another participant at least 18 years of age). All the gear and equipment are provided, you just need to wear closed-toe, outdoor shoes and bring a camera to capture all the thrills and chills.

The excitement begins as soon as you board your coach at the pier. From here you'll travel through the town of Avalon. Founded in 1887, gum magnate founder William Wrigley Jr. purchased the island in 1919 and ten years later built the iconic Catalina Casino, which boasts the world's largest circular ballroom.

Soon, the town's streets will give way to the interior's winding roads and you'll steadily climb up to the base camp of the Zip Line Eco Tour, located in Descanso Canyon. Once you reach the top you'll disembark and meet your friendly and knowledgeable guides who will lead you through a brief safety and equipment orientation.

Then, you'll suit up in gear that meets all the highest safety regulations. Next, you'll be lead to the take-off zone where you'll buckle in, latch on and zip from the mountain top to Descanso Beach on the shore.

Soak up the fresh air as you glide through the stunning scenery. And scream with delight over the course of five distinctive zip lines that stretch out three-quarters of a mile at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor at speeds pushing 40 mph.

Swoosh over the treetops of native Santa Catalina ironwood evergreen trees, and over canyons full of chaparral and coastal sage scrub. From this sky-high perspective you may see a bald eagle, raven or swallows.

Think you're traveling so fast that you're missing all the beauty? Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to take in the panoramic views and catch your breath between runs when you stop at several eco-stations along the way. Each station offers the perfect opportunity to take pictures while your guides share Catalina history and wildlife.

After your exhilarating experience, you'll return to base camp to swap stories with your fellow riders, Then, it's time to return to the comfort of your transportation and a relaxing ride back to your ship.
